Registration, Payment and fees
- Dance Class Management will be facilitated by Class for Kids.
- Parent/Guardians must complete the dancer registration detail via the class for kids link provided. It is the responsibility of the Parent/Guardian to keep this information current, in particular, any relevant medical information.
- Your booking is not confirmed until payment has been received.
- Dance Fees are payable in full and at all times and must be paid on time, to avoid penalty charges.
- We do not offer discounts nor refunds.
- Our class trial period is a paid four week block.
- Dance Fees will be reviewed twice within the dance year. Any increase will be communicated at least three months in advance.
- An admin / enrolment fee of £10.00 is payable at first registration. Thereafter an annual registration fee of £5.00 is payable by 1st August (in advance of the next August new term, 2024). This contributes to our insurances and licences.
Uniform /Presentation
- Class uniform must be worn when attending weekly class, (specific items relevant to each class as advised). No other club kit is permitted.
- New dancers must purchase the standard uniform items following the successful 4 week trial period.
- Our logo must not be used on any other/personal items. Our printed merchandise is official and is available to order online via our pro shop.
- Hair styles for class must be neat and tidy and away from face (eg, bun or ponytail)
- No jewellery should be worn in class.
- Only essential dance kit is to be brought to class and all kit should be clearly labelled with the dancers name.
- Lost property / Items left at class - any unclaimed items will be disregarded if not claimed within two weeks. There is nowhere to store additional items.
- We are not responsible for any loss or damage.
General Conduct/Privacy/Health and Safety
- Dancers must switch mobile phones off / set to silent mode while class is in session.
- No recording/pictures from personal devices is permitted in class.
- From time to time, it will be essential for physical contact to take place between the teacher and student (example lifts in routines or chaperoning younger dancers to the toilet, helping with dance shoes etc) We will ensure safe practice at all times, in doing so.
- Dancers must not wear jewellery on the dance floor, however stud earrings can be worn at the dancers own risk.
- We are not responsible for any injury.
- Dancers are required to attend for the full duration of the class time.
- Dancers are not permitted to leave the class venue during the duration of the class time.
- Dancers will not be permitted to leave on their own after class (unless that is the arrangement advised by the parent/guardian)
- Parents/Guardians are not permitted into the hall/class while the class is in session, but are welcome to come in at drop off and pick up.
- We will remain compliant in terms of GDPR and Child Protection laws.
- We respect your privacy and any information you provide will not be shared nor retained if you withdraw from our classes.
- Classes will be conducted in a safe environment.
- We will treat everyone with respect and appreciate equal exchange.
- We reserve the right to remove from our programme, without refund, anyone who is found to be bullying, misbehaving or displaying disruptive behaviour.
General Information
- In the unexpected event of class closure, the session will be rescheduled. Information will be circulated via email / social media.
- On occasion, our regular venue (Lenzie Old Parish Church Hall), maybe required for use by the church. If this is the case, we will seek alternative accommodation for the date / reschedule to another date / extend class times in the weeks following - and provide as much notice as we can with regards to the temporary arrangements.
- Holiday Weekend / Saturdays. Our official closures are Christmas/New Year and Easter weekend. All other Saturdays are scheduled to run as normal.
- From time to time, class timeslots maybe adjusted or rescheduled to accommodate event preparation / rehearsals, class absences etc. in these instances, good notice will be provided.
- Social Media - our private (locked down) parents area for currently registered dancers only, will be utilised for updates, class pictures etc (unless preferences are advised). Our public facebook, instagram posts and twitter feeds will not include pics of our dancers without specific parental permission. The tick box at registration relates to the private page.
- We are unable to accept dancers already attending other dance schools teaching the same genres. This is in the best interest of the dancer, so there is no conflict in teaching style, event dates etc. In exceptional circumstances, such as competitive teams etc, anyone attending our classes, as well as another dance school, must provide written permission from the other dance school principle/teacher, to show respect and as a courtesy, so they are aware of any potential conflict, such as those mentioned. The same rule will apply from our school.
- Attendance - to gain best benefit from dance class, attendance each week and for the full duration of the class is required.
- Dancer Notice Period - (i) absences (including any late arrival or early leave - which must be kept to an absolute minimum) require no less than a 48 hour notice. (ii) Leaving our classes, requires a minimum of a 4 week notice period.
- Dancers having change of heart or circumstances, following departure, are welcome to re-join following a period of a 12 month absence. If there is a second exit, the dancer cannot rejoin our classes. (Industry wide standard)
Dance Genres/Music/Teachers/Events
- Classes are structured in such a way that there is great variety for everyone to enjoy across the term.
- Our choreography and music which we pay licence for is not for sharing.
- Participation in our core events of progressive dance exams, showcases and showtime is encouraged.
- Professional video recording of our Showtime and other events will take place. No other filming or photography is permitted. This is in compliance to child protections laws.
- Teachers and Dance Coaches will always try to bring the best out of each individual dancer in a polite and respectful manner.
